The Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Band was formed in 1998 and has been named Madison’s Favorite Jazz Band by Isthmus Magazine for over 15 years . The band has opened for some of the world’s top Latin Jazz performers throughout that period including Eddie Palmieri, Poncho Sanchez, John Santos and Giovanni Hidalgo to name a few and has performed with the likes of the late Jerry Gonzalez, Los Lobos and the band War. They play a combination of original and classic latin jazz spanning the ’50’s to contemporary times.
